AND OTHER DIMENSIONS
Notre-Dame du Moustoir, Malguénac (F)
2019
The notions of time and space are recurrent in my work, not so much as objects detached from each
other but rather in their material and their common plasticity, in the physical, emotional or mental
experience of their discordant agreement AND OTHER DIMENSIONS seeks to bring out limit thresholds,
breaches in which the distinction between time and space would end up blurring, getting lost, dissolving.
I propose here, through drawing and sound, to enter into vibration with the Notre-Dame du Moustoir
Chapel. I placed five sound sources in the space, looking for a continuum, an unbroken zone where
the sound by its presence would become place and the place would become sound. This piece, stretched
in time, was thought for the place. It is built in voids and solids around the overhanging presence
of the barrel vault and its open lines on a suspended space.
Composed by blocks, by layers, by patterns, the sound prolongs the interior experience offered by the Chapel.
